An event exploring the perspective of different faiths and beliefs towards our relationship with the environment takes place on Saturday (November 16) at Noble’s Pavilion in Noble’s Park, Douglas.

’Soul and Soil: The Environment Within and Without’ is organised by the Isle of Man Inter Faith Group to mark Inter Faith Week and includes presentations, songs, poems and meditations from the Baha’is, the Brahma Kumaris, the Humanists and a number of Christian groups.

The event, which starts at 2.30pm, is being held in support of the Isle of Man Woodland Trust.

There will be also be a presentation by the trust’s chairman about its work.

During the week, hundreds of activities will take place across Britain.

The aims of the week are to strengthen good inter faith relations, to highlight the contribution that faith communities make to society, and to increase understanding between people of religious and non-religious beliefs.

The Isle of Man Inter Faith Group meets regularly in an atmosphere of mutual respect to explore different beliefs and faiths and celebrate shared values.
