The team at Isle of Man Newspapers was saddened to learn of the death at the weekend of our erstwhile colleague, Terry Cringle.

Terry, who began his journalistic career with the Examiner in the 1940s, had been a stalwart in Manx journalism for longer than anyone else in the newspaper trade can remember.

Terry was 91 when he died. He retired from journalism less than two years earlier.

Tomorrow’s Examiner includes a feature with fond memories of a man who became the doyen of the industry.
