A number of people living in part of Douglas were evacuated from their homes as emergency services dealt with a chemicals incident.
Police confirmed that as part of a joint emergency services operation, ’potentially unstable chemicals’ were removed from an address in the Port-E-Chee Avenue area.
Police said ’some residents’ were ’required to evacuate their homes as a precaution.’
Police said: ’Residents have not been put at risk and there is no public health risk as a result of this action.’
Around an hour later it was announced the work had been completed successfully.
Police stressed: ’To reiterate, no members of the public were put at risk nor was public health compromised.’
