Mayor of Douglas Debbie Pitts launched the 2017 Poppy Appeal on Saturday, along with Royal British Legion Isle of Man county president Steve Rodan (right) and chairman Ray Ferguson.

The theme of this year’s appeal is Rethink Remembrance.

She urged the community to ’get behind the campaign and make it a record 43rd year for fundraising’.

Also present at the launch, which took place in the Strand Centre, Douglas, on Saturday, were members of the Isle of Man Cadet Force and Ellan Vannin Pipes and Drums.
