A main route into Douglas is set to partially close, adding to the many other road closures around the island.
A section of Cooil Road will close from Tuesday through to May 12 between the hours of 9.30am and 4pm, while a new roundabout is built.
This comes after several other roadworks have been taking place around the island, including work at Buck’s Road in Douglas, Douglas Promenade, Foxdale’s main road and in Port Erin.
A Department of Infrastructure spokesman said: ’The main Douglas to Cooil Road will be closed from the road that leads to Currys PC World and Agrimark to the Isle of Man Business Park road, but not including this road. Therefore the Currys PC World and Agrimark road will be open. The road which leads to B & Q and the Post Office sorting office will be closed at its junction with Douglas to Cooil Road only.
’The alternative route will be via Annacur Lane, Farmhill Estate, Vicarage Road and the Isle of Man Business Park road.’
The road will be open outside of 9.30am to 4pm.
This comes after several other roadworks have been taking place around the island, including work at Buck’s Road in Douglas, Douglas Promenade, Foxdale’s main road and in Port Erin.
