Primary school children have raised £114 for the Rotary Polio Plus Foundation.
Pupils of Port Le Moirrey first planted 4,000 purple crocuses at the Millennium Garden in Port St Mary last October as part of an initiative run by the Rushen and Western Rotary Club in support of World Polio Day.
The crocuses have now started to bloom and the public will only be able to see them for a short time before they wither.
This time, the pupils raised funds for the Rotary Polio Plus Foundation by holding a dress down day in school and wearing something purple.
Mike Johnson of Rotary said: ‘[It is] Something that is close to all Rotarians’ hearts and the fact the children made a contribution to it is fantastic. ‘
The Rotary Polio Plus Foundation’s logistics network is now being used to distribute Covid-19 vaccinations around the world.
