Schools and businesses across the island turned red in support of Comic Relief.

More than £63.5 million has been raised for this year’s charity appeal, which supports vulnerable people and communities in the UK and internationally.

In the island, staff from a number of businesses donned red noses, dressed in red and had cake sales.

They included Nedbank Private Wealth, Panacea, Isle of Man Advertising & PR and Grant Thornton.

Cranford Nursery, in Woodbourne Road, Douglas, raised more than £100, with children dressing up in fancy dress.

At Laxey School, the emphasis was on supporting Comic Relief in an environmentally-friendly manner.

Children and staff painted their noses red and wore their red clothing as an alternative to buying the disposable plastic red noses.

The day saw year six pupils (aged 10 and 11) visit Ramsey Grammar School in their red clothing as part of a transition event.

Comic Relief is held every two years. More than £1 billion has been invested in communities since 1985.
