Onchan Scout group members are fundraising for improvements to their hall.
Group leader Julian ’Ash’ Ashcroft explained the improvements were partly for a section of the roof but also so the Scouts could ensure their building was fully disabled accessible and compliant with the Disability Discrimination Act.
The group will also replace the toilet and shower facilities at Scouts’ hall on School Road in Onchan.
The target for fundraising is £70,000 and plans so far include a bingo night on Friday March 9 at 7.30pm with a beetle drive and other events to be held throughout the year.
Another group of Scouts raising funds are among those attending the World Scout Jamboree where they will represent the island in West Virginia.
