A service of thanksgiving for the work of Robert Owen House is to be held on Sunday, July 29, at 3pm at the church of St Mary’s de Ballaugh.

It has been arranged by June Young, founder member of the Manx registered charity, ’Friends of Robert Owen House’.

Each year, the Friends donate £25,000, raised by supporters on the island, towards the upkeep of the facility, which provides overnight accommodation for relatives or carers of patients who find themselves in the Liverpool Heart and Chest Hospital.

Many were saddened by the death earlier this year of Professor Robert Owen, the man who inspired the establishment of the house which carries his name.

The service will be followed by afternoon tea. Those wishing to attend should let June know as soon as possible - 897424 or email [email protected]
