Motorists are urged to take care on the island’s roads this morning due to the wet and windy conditions.

A yellow weather warning for severe gales, issued by the Met Office yesterday afternoon, remains in place this morning.

Police have reported a tree is down on the Ramsey coast road, just north of its junction with Mines Road. The road is blocked.

The Met Office said showers accompanied by ‘gusty wind’ ‘could make for difficult driving conditions, especially during the morning rush hour’.
