The theme for this year’s National Poetry Day is freedom.

The Isle of Man Poetry Society is asking poets to go to an event to share poems on the subject.

It will take place on Sunday, September 24, at the meeting room in the Archibald Knox pub on, Avondale Road, Onchan. Doors will open at 7pm for 7.30 start.

Non-members are free to attend.

On the day itself, Thursday, September 28, at The Henry Bloom Noble Library, Douglas, there will be ’freedom’, a performance event.

Readers and listeners will be welcome.

The show starts at 7pm, has a 15-minute break for refreshments, and finishes at 8.15pm.

At the library there is seating for 30, with admission by pre-booked ticket at the door on the night.
