The Southern District Agricultural Show is inviting local business and outdoor catering units to apply for a pitch at this year’s show, to be held at the new venue of Orrisdale Farm, Ballasalla on Saturday, July 31 and Sunday, August 1.

Show secretary Sarah Comish said: ’The best part of the Southern Show is that there’s something for everyone and the committee is always working to improve the showground for visitors.

’The Southern Show now has UNESCO Biosphere Status from the Department of Environment Food and Agriculture, thanks to the show’s support of community and local producers and for promoting the benefits of using local.

’The show will have lots of entertainment across both days and we are always looking to encourage more local businesses to join us.’

Trade stand application forms are now available online and mobile caterers are also invited register their interest by contacting Sarah on 494497 / [email protected].

Mobile catering applications must evidence the use of local produce wherever possible.

The Show is open to visitors both days from 10am to 6pm, with admission priced at only £7 for adults, and £3 for children under-16 on Saturday, and £5 for adults and £1 for under-16s on Sunday.
