Husband and wife team Simon Campbell and Suzy Starlite (her real name!) like to keep themselves busy here on the Manx live scene.

Not content with their two covers bands, namely the The Devil Note on one side and the classic rock behemoth, Elvish on the other, Simon and Suzy also The Starlite Campbell band.

Having released their debut album, ’Blueberry Pie’ in 2017, the blues group has seen the album attract very favourable press and gain good positions in the various blues charts around the world.

Indeed, the band is now branching out with dates further afield, and this week is no exception as they travel to the UK and to Herefordshire for a home town show for bassist Suzy at the Linton Festival in Ross-On-Wye, which also features Mr Davy Knowles on the bill.

Davy is currently in the middle of a run of UK dates of his own this week at the moment.

There’s the small matter of their first Australian tour later this year as well so the band is certainly keeping busy over the coming months.

For a taster of the band, their music and their future dates, visit supertonerecords com/starlite-campbell-band This Saturday sees the Technical Metal beast that is Aeons return to the stage at Amber in Douglas.

Made up by ex members of The Water is Rising and The Southern Audio Conspiracy, namely Justin on drums, Joe on bass, Scott and Si on Guitars and Skippy on vocals, the band has been a little quiet of late and pick their live dates with some precision and tend to wait until they have some new material to pummel the fans with.

Support for this show comes from the excellent The Fletcher Christian Mutiny.

The band, namely Nell Kneale and Justine Lewis on guitars, Stephen Quinn on drums, Keef Lawler on vocals and Andrew Cregeen on bass, also delve around the heavier end of the musical spectrum and sight their influences along the lines of System Of A Down, Black Sabbath, In Flames and Metallica.

The doors for this free show open at 8pm with The Fletcher Christian Mutiny opening the proceedings just after 9pm.

Finally this week we head to The Creek in Peel where Dead Princes tread the boards on Saturday night.

The band whose line-up is completed by Owain Brimfield on guitars, Phil Bell-Scott on bass, Danny Mills on drums and Dan McKenna on vocals, present covers in their set from the likes of Queens Of The Stoneage, Red Hot Chilli Peppers, Nirvana and Biffy Clyro with a smattering of Queen, Jimi Hendrix and David Bowie.

If this sounds like you’re kind of thing, go and give the boys your support this weekend!
