Liverpudlian comedian Paul Smith will finally take to the Gaiety Theatre stage next week, on Saturday, February 5 for both a matinee and evening show.

The two gigs have been rescheduled mutliple times - no less than six times! - due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.

They were originally meant to take place way back in May 2020.

The tour, ’Changed’ is Paul’s third and largest ever tour of the UK, Ireland and the Isle of Man, and he is being brought over from across by RS Promotions.

His first national tour in 2018 saw him go from circuit act to one of the biggest selling names in UK stand-up in less than a year.

The 30-year-old is a firm favourite at Liverpool’s famous Hot Water Comedy Club, where he is resident compere.

His quick wit and affable nature make him popular with any crowd.

He has been crowned Liverpool’s New Comedian of the Year and he was a Finalist at The Leicester Comedian of the Year competition.

If you have ever been to Hot Water, you will have undoubtedly witnessed his skill in interacting with the audience, drawing material from the smallest suggestion and turning it into hilarious comedy.

The original tag line for the tour reads ’a lot has changed for Paul in recent years’ - it’s safe to say the same can now be said for us all.

Those thinking of attending have been amply warned: ’If you haven’t seen him then you should come to one of the shows... just don’t sit at the front!’

Expect him to mix sharp, hilarious stories from his life with his trademark off the cuff wit.

The show is not suitable for under 16s.

The first gig begins at 4pm and the second at 8pm.

Tickets start at £20.50 for ampitheatre seats, and are £25 for seats in the stalls or circle.

l Two more top UK comedians are also heading over to the island in the coming weeks.

On February 19, Rob Beckett will bring his ’Wallop’ tour to the Villa Marina, and on February 23, Gary Delaney will bring ’Gary in Punderland’ to the Gaiety.
