Football coaches are to teach young players at a soccer camp next month.The soccer camps, led by Morecambe Football Club, will help players aged six to 16 to develop their skills, with a programme focussing on technical and tactical aspects of the game.
The sessions are designed for footballers of all abilities and will be delivered by UEFA-qualified staff from the Morecambe Academy.
The club will also take the opportunity to identify talented players and offer a possible pathway into the academy and a football scholarship.
The Steam Packet is s covering the cost of travel to and from the Isle of Man for the coaches from Morecambe FC Academy.
Mike Hinchcliffe, Morecambe’s academy director, is a regular visitor to the Isle of Man.
He said: ’I have been over for the TT and Manx GP many times. I know the Manx passion for all kinds of sport and the warm and enthusiastic welcome that awaits our staff.’
Mark Woodward, chief executive of the Steam Packet, said: ’We are pleased to support Morecambe FC Academy. The soccer camp will be a great experience for the youngsters who sign up to learn new tactical skills from a qualified group of coaches, while working on moves they already know, having fun and making new friends.’
Ramsey Youth Centre and Old Boys FC will provide the venue for the Isle of Man camp, which takes place between April 3 and 5.
