A six -year-old girl has completed her own Mini Parish Walk in aid of a lung cancer charity.
Daisy couldn’t do the original Mini Parish Walk on July 17 as she was ill. Instead she did her own walk with three of her friends, Sofia and Lola Martinez and their younger sister Isabella.
The money raised from her sponsored walk has been donated to the Roy Castle Lung Cancer Foundation in memory of her cousin who died from lung cancer.
Laura Jones, community and events officer from RCLCF Isle of Man, said: ’We are so proud of Daisy who did the walk in memory of her cousin Wendy Ward and has raised over £1,000 on her JustGiving page.
’Many thanks to Daisy and her friends who joined her on the day and to Gianni Epifani from the NSC for giving us permission to do it.
’It was a real family and friends effort.
’We are all very proud of Daisy and her friends, and thank you to all Daisy’s supporters who have raised money for local patients with a lung cancer diagnosis and their families.’
Wendy’s husband Keith Ward, mother Viv and daughter Natalie along with Daisy’s mum and dad, were supporting Daisy and her friends whilst they walked.
The Roy Castle Lung Cancer Foundation funds research projects into lung cancer, provides online and telephone support services and campaigns on behalf of lung cancer patients and their families.
