Peel Castle will open its doors for the annual ’Olimpets’ sports day next week.

The informal sports fun day takes place on Thursday, August 3, beginning at 2pm, and will feature such Olympic disciplines as the 100m dash, the sack race, a fancy dress obstacle course and a traditional egg ’*’ spoon race.

The event is weather dependent, free to enter and is open to athletes of all ability, although entry in the castle itself will still have to be paid for, with the standard Manx National Heritage admission price.

More details can be found either by contacting Katie King on 648090, or though the Manx National Heritage website
