The Steam Packet has cancelled tonight’s sailing from Douglas to Heysham.
It’s blaming the bad weather.
And it could get worse.
The company says all its sailings till Thursday morning are subject to cancellations or disruption.
Anyone who was planning to sail on tonight’s service, or the return in the early hours tomorrow, should ring the reservations team at the Steam Packet on 661661.
The latest weather forecast from the Met Office:
Today: A cold and windy day with a few snow or hail showers, which may leave a slight covering on the ground at times even down at lower levels, and strong to gale force westerly winds.
Temperatures only 4 Celsius as a maximum.
The showers will become more frequent for a time overnight, then slightly less cold tomorrow but still with some wintry showers, the wind will ease during the afternoon as rain arrives, heavy for a time during the evening and falling as sleet or snow initially over the hills.
Gales or severe gales will return overnight.
Cold and windy on Thursday with scattered showers, wintry again especially over the hills.
