The Met Office has issued a yellow weather warning for coastal overtopping.

The weather forecast from the Met Office:

A cold and windy day, with sunny spells and just a few isolated wintry showers possible. Maximum temperature only 6 Celsius, but feeling much colder than that in the winds, these strong to gale force for much of the day with gusts of 50 to 55 mph, then 60 to 70 mph in places during the evening as severe gales develop again. Large waves will break onto Fenella beach and the northeast end of Peel promenade at high tide (midday).

Later tonight the winds will ease marginally, with only an odd wintry showers likely. Then tomorrow will remain cold, again with sunshine, isolated wintry showers and strong to gale force westerly winds.

Lighter winds developing through Wednesday, and otherwise it will be a largely dry and bright day.
