This morning’s 8am sailing of the Ben-my-Chree from Douglas to Heysham has been cancelled.
The Steam Packet took the decision because of the stormy weather.
Very windy for much of today with the gale or severe gale force northwesterlies giving gusts of 60 or 65 mph in places, possibly causing some minor damage and disruption. Then later in the afternoon and this evening the winds will begin to ease. Otherwise it will be a bright day, with sunshine and only isolated wintry showers. Maximum temperature 6 Celsius, and feeling very cold in the wind.
Tonight the winds will continue to ease, and the wintry showers may become more frequent around the south of the island. Most places will see a slight ground frost, with minimum temperatures around 1 or 2 Celsius.
Lighter winds tomorrow, with bright or sunny intervals and scattered wintry showers.
