Peel Day on Sunday promises to bring action-packed entertainment to the town with stunt riders, bands, children’s rides and a huge selection of food.
The hugely popular annual event attracts thousands of people to Peel and will feature performances on the promenade throughout the day from stunt riders such as Steve Colley, Lee Bowers, Jason Britton, Chris Braund, Fred Crosset and Lee Musselwhite.
Colley, nicknamed ’Mr Showtime’, is a regular at Peel Day and is a three times British solo trials champion, four times winner at the Scottish six-day trial and 11 times winner of the Manx National two-day trial.
Lee Bowers is described as the UK’s number one professional free-style stunt rider. He made it into the Guinness Book of World Records in 2016 for the ’world’s fastest interception’, when he caught a rugby ball while standing on the modified tank of his Kawasaki bike as it travelled at more than 50 miles per hour.
He is also a multiple UK freestyle champion.
Jason Britton is nicknamed ’Captain America’, and is known as the ’Godfather of freestyle stunting’.
Lee Musselwhite is a professional BMX rider and another Guinness world record holder who competes and performs in shows at the highest level all over the world.

Music will come from plenty of local bands and solo artists playing throughout the day, including Shoh Slaynt, Matt Kelly, Lee Brooks and The Shads, with The Ballaghs headlining.
There will also be an artisan market and street food with Flo the Coffee Van providing home-made cakes and coffee, Black Dog Pizza offering wood-fired pizzas and What the Fork selling Ballakilley Farm pork and veggie tacos.
Peel Commissioners’ chairman and organiser Ian Davison said: ’This year’s Peel Day will once again see a great line-up of the best stunt acts available in the UK, with two performance areas and acts that appeal to young and old.
’There are bouncy castles and children’s rides on the beach and the promenade.
’There is also a great selection of stalls and attractions, The Flo Big Stage on the Tongue by Spit Corner with loads of local bands and catering establishments with food including Thai, Indian, Manx, Black Dog pizza, Flo the coffee van, donuts and many more.
’All we need is the weather. The event is free entry with free parking on the West Quay and the headlands field.’
