Peel is set to welcome one of the UK’s finest rock, blues and swing bands next week, along with a top guest vocalist.

Sugar T and the Swells are heading to the Peel Centenary Centre for a concert on Saturday, October 6, and are bringing a well known soul and pop singer along with them.

As a session vocalist, backing singer or front woman in her own right, Sylvia Mason has sung with some of the biggest names in music, and has graced some of the biggest hit singles of the past 30 years.

She regularly appeared with singer Jimmy Nail, duetting on his hit ’Ain’t No Doubt’, and also sang with the likes of the Cher, Robbie Williams, Simple Minds, Joan Armatrading and the Pet Shop Boys, as well as releasing her own singles.

She also toured with Roger Waters on his worldwide Dark Side of the Moon tour.

Sugar T and the Swells feature frontman and horn player Roger Lamb, and play authentic 50s and 60s classic tunes, with a modern twist, regularly playing concerts across the world.

Tickets for Sugar T and the Swells, featuring Sylvia Mason, are priced at £18, and available from etickets.im/cc
