The organisers of Saturday afternoon’s Key Workers Thank You Parade have said there is still time to join up to be part of the TT course procession.
The front of the parade, which sets off from the Grandstand at 3pm, is reserved for vehicles representing the emergency services, key workers, the health service, vital-service companies and voluntary organisations.
However, if members of the public would like to join in and support the parade by riding their motorbike or driving their car, they can register their interest by going to the parade’s Facebook page: ’Supermanx Key Workers Thank You Parade’.
The parade will be forming up from 2.15pm at the TT Grandstand before leaving 45 minutes later.
Event organiser, Kevin Dodds said: ’I’m pleased that so many sectors of the island’s community that helped us through Covid-19 will be represented at the front of the parade.
’We’ve still got room for bikes and cars to support them though.
’I’m sure our key worker representatives will get a well-deserved cheer as they go around the TT course.’
The parade is one of many events taking place around the island during the special four-day bank holiday weekend.
A National Service of Reflection will be held at 11am on Friday at St George’s Church, Douglas.
