A public survey is taking place to measure awareness of cyber security in the island and to protect people from online attacks.

Residents and Manx businesses are being encouraged to complete the government’s Cyber Survey, which aims to improve cyber resilience here.

The survey, which closes on Sunday (July 19), is part of the Isle of Man’s National Cyber Security Strategy.

A range of questions are asked, including how you unlock your smartphone, whether you have considered sharing your PIN with anyone and if you use the same password for multiple accounts.

Last year, the Office of Cyber-Security & Information Assurance (OCSIA) ran an island-wide Cyber Security Awareness Survey.

From its 649 responses, it found that 91% of participants had received a fraudulent email, 21% of participants had an online account compromised and that 39% of people did not know where or how to report a cyber crime.
