A talk ’Meditation for Everyday Life’ will be given by lifelong practitioner Harika Nimmala this Saturday (September 29) at 4pm at the Hub, Thie Rosien in Port Erin.

Harika said: ’Meditation is not about blanking the mind or stopping thinking, but it’s more about creating the right kinds of thoughts that lead us naturally into a state of inner peace.

’Then our mind starts to work for us rather than against us!

’There is a lot of research these days that suggests a regular meditation practice can improve our sleep and also helps us deal more effectively with everyday challenges and relationships.

’So learning to bring meditation into our daily life is a very positive life tool.’

Harika has been practising meditation since the age of 13 and found it helped her a lot when she was at school with her studies to maintain concentration and to let go of stress.

Now based at the main Brahma Kumaris Centre in Willesden, North West London, she teaches meditation and co-ordinates Brahma Kumaris activities in Harrow.

The talk is followed at 5.30pm by the weekly one hour meditation slot at the Hub.

Participants can join regular meditators for an hour of guided meditation commentary, which will be interspersed with periods of calming music and silence.

There is no charge for the talk or to atend the meditation session, although donations are welcomed.
