Team Boobilicious will be sure to be turning heads at the Douglas Bra Dash with their effervescent pink outfits.
The team - comprising Carolyn Johnson, Jude Carey, Julie Bradley, Dawn Wilders and Helen Easthope - are no strangers to the Breast Cancer Now fundraiser.
Their extravagant pink outfits have earned them the best team outfit prize on multiple occasions.
Carolyn, who has taken part in 13 dashes, said: ’Coming up with the initial idea is always the most difficult part.
’It is usually the result of bizarre conversations and turning my living room into our workshop for four weeks a year.
’All our creations start with cardboard and pink paint.
’This year we have added 144 champagne glasses and glitter!’
She added: ’We were all very proud to learn last year that our fundraising efforts were recognised when our names were included on the £,1000 Challenge acknowledgment at Breast Cancer Now’s Toby Robins Research Centre at the Institute for Cancer Research in London.
’Providing world-class research, life changing support and better services and care, Breast Cancer Now aims to find a cure by 2050 so that no one dies from breast cancer. This can only be achieved by your ongoing support and donations.’
Dashes take place in four towns.
Douglas dashers will set off on Friday, June 14, at 1.15pm. The start and finish is in Market Street, at the rear of Marks and Spencer.
The route takes in the seafront and the shopping street.
Then Castletown dash gets under way at 1.30pm from Market Square.
Ramsey dash takes place on Saturday (June 15) at midday.
It starts in the square next to Shoprite and heads down Parliament Street to St Paul’s Square and back.
And finally, Peel dash will take place on Sunday (June 16) from 3pm, starting at the swing bridge.
The route sees dashers make their way along the prom and back.
Prizes, donated by Lloyds Bank, will be presented at each dash to the fastest dasher and best dressed adult, child and team.
