Stephen Daniel Thomas Higgins, aged 18, of Ennerdale Avenue, Onchan, has denied drug-driving.
A court heard that there is a disagreement between experts representing the defence and prosecution.
The case was adjourned until February 9 to allow time for this to be settled.
Bail continues.
