Sure is celebrating 15 years of business in the Isle of Man.

Since the company launched in 2007 as solely a mobile phone network operator it has evolved into a full-service telecommunications and information communications technology provider.

Milestones include the launch of broadband services in 2010, the introduction of a new 4G network in 2014, and building its own fibre network on the island in 2017.

Since 2007, the Sure team has grown from 12 to nearly 50 employees and includes engineers, network technicians, retail staff, and sales and service delivery specialists.

Mike Phillips, Sure’s chief executive in the Isle of Man, has been with the company since 2009 and thanked all those who had been part of what he called Sure’s ‘journey’.

He said: ‘We’re immensely grateful to everyone who’s played a part in helping our business grow and evolve to where we are today.

‘When Sure arrived in the island we wanted to provide viable competition for consumers and we have achieved that across an increasing variety of products and services.

‘Significant investment in the island has enabled us to meet the needs of a huge number of customers who are reliant on our service and technological expertise.

‘Now, Sure is a full-service telecommunications and ICT provider catering for everything from individual landlines for family homes, to cybersecurity, network architecture and managed services to businesses large and small.

‘Our ambition is to keep innovating and keep serving the needs of our local customers with our local team.’

Sure has played an active role in the local community since 2007, supporting various charities and initiatives.

The Sure Community Foundation launched in the island in 2019 to formalise the company’s charitable support, and Sure has been the official telecommunications partner of the Isle of Man TT since 2007.
