Peel Carnival Day has once again been hailed a success after large crowds gathered in Sunset City for a day of colour, entertainment and community spirit.

The annual event took over the town on Sunday, with families, visitors and local groups joining together to enjoy a packed programme of activities and the much-anticipated carnival parade.

Organised by the Peel Carnival Committee, the celebration saw the streets filled with imaginative costumes, colourful parade entries and plenty of smiles as participants brought the town to life.

Organisers said the atmosphere throughout the day was ‘unforgettable’, thanking everyone who took part in making the event such a success.

Sharing a collection of photographs from the day, they said: ‘From incredible costumes and colourful parade entries to plenty of smiles (and bubbles!), the streets of Peel were full of fun from start to finish.’

They added: ‘A huge thank you to everyone who dressed up, took part in the parade, cheered from the sidelines and helped create such an amazing atmosphere.

‘The creativity and community spirit on display was fantastic to see.’

The carnival, which is a long-standing fixture in Peel’s summer calendar, brought together local businesses, charities, performers and volunteers for a celebration of the town’s character.

The event featured a range of entertainment for all ages, with stalls, food and drink, children’s activities, competitions and live performances helping to keep visitors entertained throughout the day.

The parade once again formed the centrepiece of the celebrations, with colourful floats and costumes showcasing the creativity of those involved.

Prizes were also awarded across a number of categories, including best float, fancy dress and best double act.

Organisers previously highlighted the importance of community support in keeping the tradition alive and encouraged new volunteers to come forward to help with future events.
