First of all, a big thank you to everyone who has sent us messages of congratulations following our success at the Isle of Man Responsible Business (REB) Awards.

We were thrilled to be nominated in the category for ’Workplace Responsible Business Initiative of the Year for Charities’.

But to actually scoop the prize was such a fabulous feeling, so a sincere thanks for all your kind support and messages over the past week, and, of course, to the event organisers.

It was a wonderful occasion.

The award has brought the curtain down on a fun summer at the Family Library, but there’s been no let-up in a busy start to the new term, and that’s just how we like it.

We have also been thrilled by the feedback from the first two ’Bump to Baby’ practical skills workshops.

The reaction to the four-week course on Monday afternoons, which is focusing on feeding, practical skills, safe sleep and realistic expectations, has been extremely positive and we will host future sessions over the winter months.

Watch out on our Facebook page for more information or contact Lauren Eppleston (community nursery nurse) on 686984.

It’s also been our pleasure to team up with the Children’s Centre to host DIY faerie wing workshops.

Lots of children and their parents popped in to make their own fairy costumes and we are looking forward to Saturday’s (September 28) attempt to break the world record for the largest gathering of fairies.

The record currently stands at 878 people, and it would be wonderful to see that number bettered.

If you’ve not been into see us lately, make sure you come and take a look at some of our new arrivals, including some beautiful sea themed books following our summer on the oceans with the Oceans Adventure summer reading scheme.
