Little Fish was a big help to members of the Hub in Port Erin who found themselves without a venue for their Christmas party.

The place they had booked cancelled due to unforseen circumstances.

Co-ordinator of the Hub community project Janet Bridle said: ’In comes the white knight, Phil Taylor from Little Fish at the Bay who offered us for free his restaurant instead, plus two members of staff for free to help in the kitchen and serve.

’George Taylor, a local chef, did the food for free, so we have been able to offer the event to 50 Hubsters at a very reasonable price, which means that a good proportion of our older regulars, who live alone, have been able to afford to come.

’George has also been able to get some of the ingredients donated from local suppliers.

’It was fab. Good food, good cheer, good fun. We did a quiz, raffle, sang carols (badly) then danced a bit.’

She added: ’Special thanks must go to Phil Taylor and Nicole who gave up their day off, George Taylor (no relation) who did the cooking and the waiting staff of willing volunteers Tom, Tommy and Sue.’
