Two Manx poets will create a joint poem in a day, based on an exhibition about a southern landmark.

The current Manx Bard, Owen Atkinson, and the youth Bard, Brintha Yasodaran, will spend the day on Sunday, October 24, at the ’Milner: The Man and the Tower’ exhibition, held to celebrate the 150th anniversary of Milner Tower on Bradda Head, and will spend the day observing, researching, speaking to attendees and gathering ideas to help them write a collaborative poem.

The finished piece will be performed there and then by the two bards, alongside some of their other poetry, at a showcase at 3.45pm.

The exhibition is being held at St Catherine’s Church Hall in Port Erin and will look at the life and legacy of William Milner, one of the village’s greatest benefactors, and the landmark tower that was built in his honour on Bradda Head.

It has been organised by Manx Heritage Trust.

All are invited to attend the exhibition and the performance afterwards, free of charge.

The exhibition is open from 10 to 4 everyday until October 31.
