The White Stripes
Greatest Hits
For the first time ever, we get to enjoy an official anthology from the legendary rock duo that is, The White Stripes!
26 songs spread out over double vinyl have been carefully selected to deliver a wide range of sounds that span across their whole career.
You’re able to hear the journey from tiny underground indie group to festival giants and Multi-Grammy Award Winning heroes.
With the opener ’Let’s Shake Hands’, it’s a noisy reminder of how we have been blown away by the sound of just one guitar and one drummer. Megs simple but extremely effective drum smashing partnered with Jacks distorted guitar slaying gripped us then, and keeps our heads rocking now, in blissful reminiscence, 14 years after their last album Icky Thump.
A delightful welcome back that’s sure to have us jumping around our homes!
SOUND PICK
Dope Lemon
Honey Bones
New repress, previously unavailable in the UK:
Dope Lemon is the solo project from Angus Stone, one half of Australian sibling duo Angus and Julia Stone, and for the first time in a long while the UK has managed to crop a limited amount of Double Clear Vinyl of their debut album ’Honey Bones’.
This laid back, lo-fi psychedelia and mellow folk record is one the gets you from the get-go with a sound that’s hard to compare to any other.
Opening track ’Marinade’ sets the tone for the rest of the album with its laid-back feel; while anthems like ’Coyote’ keep you rocking with excitement.
This album is not without diversity either, the band doesn’t shy away from electronica effects and there’s a range of instruments used, such as the banjo and sitar in title track ’Honey Bones’.
Magnificent song writing partnered with diverse instrumentations and subtly layered arrangements makes this an album not to miss.
