This June’s Manx Telecom Parish Walk will have some new features, including a ’Fanzone’ at Knockaloe for supporters to follow the walkers’ progress from the Round Table to Patrick.
Organisers are expecting a record number of entries for the walk which takes place on Saturday, June 19.
As well as the enhancements to the usual live timing, there is also a new app for racewalkers and followers, route.parishwalk.com, developed by Tony Partridge. This will show the location of checkpoints, feeding stations and toilets as well as all road closures and one-way systems. Participants will also be provided with a video clip of them arriving at the finishing line. The closing date for entries on www.parishwalk.com is midnight on May 16.
