First up this week, it’s all about The Devil Note as they head out this Saturday to play their final show.
Ever? Certainly, for now.
After an incredibly busy couple of years the band is going their separate ways.
But fear not, there is one last hurrah before it all comes to a grinding halt, as the band head to their Douglas gigging home at Sam Webb’s on Saturday night.
Featuring Simon Campbell on guitar with Suzy Starlite on bass, with both sharing the vocal duties, the band is a nod to the British Blues and Rock explosion of the 60s.
Expect cuts from the likes of John Mayall and The Bluesbreakers, Eric Clapton, Humble Pie, Cream and Free alongside pieces by Focus, B.B. King, ZZ Top, David Bowie and T-Rex.
If you want a last look at the band, they will be hitting the stage from 9.30pm onwards.
If you’re out and about at Jaks in Douglas this weekend, Friday night sees Ian Thompson opening the weekend proceedings.
Ian, in a solo guise rather than with his full band for this particular show, pulls out a set full of classics from the likes of The Kinks, David Bowie, The Beatles, Simon and Garfunkel, R.E.M, mixed with a selection of original cuts from his debut releaseD last year via U.S. label, the Spectra Music Group.

Staying with Jaks, Totally 80s are in attendance on Saturday night.
The band that features Dave Holland on keys and vocals, Jonny Peacock on drums, John Barlow on guitar and Johnny Galbraith on bass in their line-up, pull out a setlist from the likes of Duran Duran, Human League, UB40, The Specials and A Flock of Seagulls amongst many others.
If this sounds like your type of night, the band hits the stage around 10pm.
Friday night sees the Ballaghs heading south and holding court at the increasingly popular Compton Vaults.
The Folk Punk boys that features our very own Mike Wade on guitar and vocals, Lee Quaggin on bass, Ian Allen on bouzouki and Mike Stevens on drums mix up influences from the likes of the Levellers, the Pogues, Ferocious Dog, Flogging Molly and includes originals which have been written with a heavy leaning towards a Trad Manx and Irish style.
The band hit the stage from around 9.30PM.
Support for this show comes from Phil Reynolds and The Dearly Departed, who kick off the proceedings at around 8pm.
