Tourism bosses are inviting people in the industry to share their views with them.
They have organised when they call ’coffee and cake’ drop-in sessions which board members of Visit Isle of Man, the government body that promotes tourism will be on hand.
The agency’s non-executive chair, Ronald Caldwell, said: ’Not only is this an opportunity for our industry members to tell us their story, but it also provides us the chance to gauge industry’s response to the government’s financial support schemes, notably the Strategic Capacity Scheme, while also allowing us to share our strategic direction for the island’s recovery moving forward.
’However, and maybe most importantly, we hope these informal and open sessions will help us build stronger relationships with industry, so we can ensure they are included throughout the recovery process in order for us to achieve the brightest of futures for both the island and our industry members.’
Angela Byrne, head of Visit Isle of Man, said: ’We encourage all of our industry members to take advantage of these sessions. All feedback is welcome and will inform and help drive our recovery strategy moving forward.
’Our commitment to support and help rebuild the industry during these uncertain times, is of utmost importance and agency members will continue to work with industry to ensure the appropriate level of business support and advisory services are offered during this ever changing situation.’
The first drop-in session took place this week.
The next will take place on November 18 from 2pm to 4pm at Conrod’s Pizzeria in Ramsey.
If it is a success, more will be staged.
