The Southern Vintage Engine and Tractor Club will be holding its annual general meeting on Thursday, October 13, at Rushen United’s clubhouse in Port Erin starting at 7.45pm.

The club welcomes new members who have an interest in vintage and classic tractors, farm machinery or stationary engines.

You do not need to own any of these items to be a member.

The club will also be holding its annual Vintage Ploughing Match on Saturday, October 15 at Ballavayre, on the Ballakilpheric Road, in Colby.

This event has various classes in which vintage and classic tractors can compete, as well a world style class, Manx style and a class for horse ploughing. The club wishes to thank Paul Costain for the use of the land.

Those who are competing are asked to be on the field by 10am ready for a 10.30 start.

The club asks if you are competing in this match, could you please confirm that you wish to attend to Orry Mitchell on 496870 by Thursday October 13, if possible.

There will a presentation of the shields and trophies to the winners of each class at The Sidings, Casletown on the evening of Thursday October 20. There will more details of this event on the day of the match.
