The first in-house tram horse foal in more than 20 years has been born.

Seven-year-old trammer Ginger gave birth to a filly - a female - on Tuesday.

An Isle of Man Transport spokesman said: ’We are delighted to announce that our beautiful Ginger gave birth to a lovely little foal this morning.

’Mum has taken to it really well and baby is happy and healthy.

’Our first in-house foal since 1998 and hopefully the first of many new arrivals.’

The Clydesdale foal is yet to be named.

Isle of Man Transport and Douglas Bay Horse Tramway have both shared photos of the pair on their Facebook pages.
