Isle of Man Transport, which runs the island’s nationalised bus and railway services, is promoting its services during TT fortnight.

Spokeswoman Hannah Lo Bao said: ’TT Rider tickets are one of our most popular tickets we offer during the period.

’They enable spectators to ride all day on the Snaefell Mountain Railway between Laxey and the summit for just £12 or for an extra £2travel on the Manx Electric Railway too.

’This gives spectators the opportunity to get all the best views and action from the 31st milestone at the Bungalow.’

TT is also a busy period for the Steam Railway and throughout the two weeks timetable T and R will be in operation.

’The Steam Railway offers locals the chance to escape the dreaded commutes to and from work,’ Mrs Lo Bao said.

’Throughout the two weeks on normal working days the dining car offers commuter club trains in the morning and evening.’

Commuter club trains leave Port Erin at 7.45am for arrival in Douglas an hour later with a choice of full English breakfasts or baps and coffee.

On the return commute in the evening bar snacks are available along with a bar.

The evening train leaves Douglas at 5.45pm for arrival in Port Erin.
