A local singer songwriter is getting in the festive mood by releasing his first Christmas song.
Trevor John Shimmin is set to release his festive tune ’A Song From Santa’ on Christmas eve, and said that it was inspired by a band with a fairly Christmas-sy name.
’This Christmas song came about whilst playing "Zombie" by "The Cranberries" which is pretty ironic with the Christmas connection, Cranberries,’ said Trevor. ’It’s basically Santa getting excited for the big day,and telling us all about his big night at work.
Trevor was joined on he track by husband-and-wife team, noted guitarist Barry Nelson and bassist Val Nelson.
’I’m absolutely proud of this song both lyrically and musically,’ he added.
’Id like to thank Valerie and Barry big time for their help and contribution on making this a great Christmas song.
’It was a last-minute decision to go for it for this Christmas, and will be released on all purchase and streaming services on Christmas Eve.’
