The TT cafe opens at Abbey church hall, Bridge Road in Ballasalla, until Saturday, June 9.

The popular volunteer-run cafe is open from 8am to 3pm, with hot food being served to 2pm.

’We are building on the success that we have had in previous years,’ said church warden Orry Mitchell. ’Mainly looking after the visiting motorcyclists and spectators. We are also supported by the local community.’

All proceeds raised go towards the upkeep of the four churches in the parish of Malew and Santon and thanks to massive voluntary effort in supplying and making food and running the cafe, it has raised thousands of pounds in the last few years. Orry said funds would go towards the cost of a boiler replacement in the Abbey church hall and window maintenance in the Abbey Church. He thanked the volunteers.
