There will be no Red Arrows at the TT this year and no entertainment on the promenade roadway by Bushy’s beer tent, but a variety of attractions will instead be spread out across the island.
The traditional TT funfair will be on Douglas promenade walkway and the Indie rock band Razorlight will play at the Villa Marina on June 9, which is Senior Race Day.
The Red Arrows will be missing due to commitments elsewhere but the Department of Economic Development has said the air display team will be invited to the 2018 event.
Comedy display team the Purple Helmets will be performing at the TT grandstand as well as at the Peel Motorcycle Show, organised by the Moddey Dhoo club. The show remains in Peel this year after moving from Laxey seafront in 2016 because of fears Laxey bridge would not be completed and reopened in time.
The TT Monster Stunt Show will be in Noble’s Park as well as going on the road, visiting Peel and Port Erin TT days.
Department of Economic Development member, Rob Callister, said he was delighted to have such a comprehensive calendar of events for this year’s TT.
’It’s great to see the variety of entertainment options available for locals, visitors and fans alike. The spread of action around the island demonstrates the continued appeal of the festival and the opportunities for local people and businesses to join in the fun and support the event,’ he said.
Festivities end with the customary firework display over Douglas bay on Friday June 9.
