A young girl is raising money this TT for the Rob Vine Fund, utilising the power of Snapchat filters and eBay.

Lyla Schofield, aged 11, from Douglas, spends her TT around the Grandstand, talking to riders and collecting selfies and autographs.

But this year, she decided to do a little bit extra and raise money for the charity which provides pre-hospital medical and rescue care, equipment and medics training for motorsport held in the island.

Lyla’s idea was to ask for random items from the riders and teams, get them signed, sell them on eBay and donate the money.

Her mum Kate said: ’Lyla’s always had an interest in the TT because of her grandad, Maurice Mawdsley, but after visiting the Grandstand, she fell in love with the event.

’She liked getting pictures and autographs with the riders and when she was on Snapchat she discovered the filters, so she started asking for selfies with the filters on.

’The riders are all so nice and lovely to her and have donated some weird things, I have two tyres in my house!’

Kate said that Lyla’s favourite racer Ian Hutchinson and it was because of his accident last year she learned of the charity.
