Today’s weather forecast from the Met Office
Outbreaks of rain will become heavy for a time this morning before clearing early afternoon, with just the odd passing shower possible through the rest of the day as the low cloud and mist slowly lifts allowing bright or sunny spells to break through. The light south to southeast wind will freshen this morning before turning to the south or southwest into the afternoon with a top temperature of 18°C.
This evening and tonight will be mostly dry with just a slight risk of an isolated shower. The wind will turn to the west or southwest and ease slightly with lowest temperature near to 10°C.
Some hill fog is possible at first tomorrow but it will be a mainly dry day with sunny intervals, and a moderate to fresh south to southwest wind. Temperatures reaching up to 18°C in sheltered spots across the north of the island but a couple of degrees cooler along the coasts. Turning cloudy tomorrow evening with rain moving in overnight into Saturday.
Rain will continue to affect the island Saturday morning, turning heavy before gradually clearing into the afternoon. However the low cloud is likely to persistent with some coastal mist possible around the south of the island, and any brightness limited to more northern parts where temperatures will reach a high of 17°C.
