Police say they dealt with several reports of vehicles travelling against the one-way system on the Mountain Road last night.

All were foreign visitors to the TT, said the roads policing unit.

An accident on the Mountain caused the road to be closed for a time last night.

The Mountain Road was also closed three times during the day yesterday - twice due to sheep on the road and once due to reports of a man jogging along the top of the Mountain Mile. Visibility was poor at the time.

Police said that while this was not illegal it was certainly not safe to do so.
