Clay target shooter and Commonwealth Games hopeful Jake Keeling had a very successful trip competing in the Double Trap Scottish Championships over the weekend.
After some intensive training on the Thursday and Friday, good conditions for Saturday’s open competition saw the PokerStars-supported shooter hit a personal best score of 138 ex 150. This secured him the win on the day and his highest Commonwealth Games consideration score to date.
Atrocious weather greeted the competitors for Sunday’s Scottish Championship and Keeling had to use all his experience in the wind and rain to post another consideration score of 127, holding off Scotland’s Drew Christie to win the bronze medal.
