The Tynwald carol service will be going ahead with Covid-19 restrictions this week.
Plans to hold the service will be in line with the government’s current advice to ’know before you go’ and attendees will be encouraged to take a lateral flow test before arriving at St Mary’s.
People will also be asked to wear a face covering for the duration of the service and to ’make full use’ of the space in the venue.
The music will be led by Tynwald Choir, the Government Staff Choir and a brass group.
A retiring collection will be made for the Manx charities Graih and Housing Matters, and the service is expected to finish at 2pm. It will not be possible to serve refreshments following the service.
The President of Tynwald Laurence Skelly has thanked Monsignor John Devine and his team for their assistance during the preparations for the service.
It will take place at St Mary of the Isle, Hill Street, Douglas on Thursday at 1.10pm.
