The number of people out of work has risen.
January’s figure shows that there were 14 more people unemployed than the month before and 19 more than in January 2018.
The rate of unemployment is also up by 0.1% to 0.9%.
Overall there are currently 368 unemployed people, with 267 male and 101 female.
Over the month 163 people signed on to the register and 149 people left.
A total of 910 job vacancies were notified to the Job Centre, with 644 remaining at the end of the month.
About 75% (480) were full-time positions and 25% (164) were part-time.
Catering and entertainment has the highest number of job vacancies with 126 places remaining. Education and teaching has the lowest with 34.
The sector with the highest number of unemployed people is retail distrubtion with the figure at 34.
The east of the island has the highest number of unemployed people with 238. The north has 64, the south has 42 and the west has 24 people.
The east also has the highest number of vacancies in the island, with just under 500.
In January 2009, 926 people were registered as unemployed in the island.
