The Met Office said they were associated with cumulo-nimbus clouds and become visible due to the presence of water droplets.
Brian Kneale, of Glen Vine, spotted the funnel cloud at 1.55pm today out to sea off Castletown and Terry Liddiard saw it off Port St Mary.
