It’s officially the season of sun and fun and the team at Hospice Isle of Man are looking forward to a very busy summer as we continue with our calendar of community events.
A highlight for us every year is the island’s two agricultural shows and we’re excited to be giving our stands at both events a distinct wallaby theme.
The first of the shows is the Southern District Agricultural Show at Great Meadow, Castletown on Saturday, July 27 and Sunday, July 28, followed by the Royal Manx at Knockaloe Farm, Patrick on Friday, August 9 and Saturday August 10.
Hot on the heels of their big debut at the Tynwald Day Fair in St John’s this year, we’ll be giving visitors to our stands the chance to try out our Wallabies Gone Wild VR headsets, which allow the user to experience the trail in virtual reality.
This VR app was initially designed to make the trail accessible to everyone regardless of their health or mobility, but it has also proved to be great entertainment for a wider audience and anybody is welcome to come and try it.
We’ll also have our pay-to-paint wallaby, on which anyone can unleash their creativity and claim a piece of this colourful marsupial as their own.
We currently have two of these pay-to-paint wallabies and it’s wonderful to see them filling up with little pieces of artwork from all over the community.
We’ll also have the range of our Wallabies Gone Wild merchandise on sale.
This is proving very popular with people who want a memento of the summer that our beautiful wallabies took over the Isle of Man.
Sadly, our paint-your-own wallabies have now all sold out after we were bowled over by demand for them, but we do now have stunning new gold and silver limited edition wallabies which we hope will prove just as popular with everyone.
From badges to beach towels, coasters to cuddly toys, you’ll be certain to find a great keepsake.
All proceeds from Wallabies Gone Wild will go to Hospice Isle of Man, to help us to support people within our community to live well, their way, until the end of life.
